Bright Saturday
On Saturday April 18th, during Bright Week, Priest Danil Lugovoy carried out a Matins and Divine Liturgy. On its conclusion the last Easter procession was made around the church. Thereafter all praying on this day for reverent worship of safekeeping and eating at home were given a Artos – a special Easter bread. The Artos was consecrated, by the sprinkling of holy water and offering incense at the night Easter service. Artos lay on the solea, before the image of our Saviour, throughout Holy Week.
