His Eminence Mark, Archbishop of Egoryevsk meets with Archbishop Sergey of the Cape of Good Hope
On Friday the 4th of October, while on the visit to the Republic of South Africa – His Eminence Mark, Archbishop of Egoryevsk met with Archbishop Sergey of the Cape of Good Hope (Alexandrian Patriarchate).
On arrival at the residence of the Archbishop of the Cape of Good Hope, Archbishop Mark conducted a short moleben at the Church of St. Rafael, Nicholas and Irene. The Archbishop then paid his respects to the relics of St. Rafael.
In the residence there was a discussion held by both Archbishops, which touched on a number of different mutually beneficial subjects – some of which were the Orthodox community in the city of Cape Town and how important it is to uphold those relationships, and the necessity and frequency needed to carry out the Divine Liturgy services in the Slovenic language.
The Dean of the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, Danil Lugovoy was also present at the meeting of the two Archbishops. Likewise, the Rector of the Cathedral of St. George in the city of Cape Town, Archpriest Nikolai Giamuridis, Deacon Michael Simos and future cleric of the Diocese of Cape Town (student Petros Kaya) were also present at the gathering.
