New birch trees on the territory of the Church of St.Sergius of Radonezh

On Sunday 2nd of June 2013, students of the Sunday school together with the congregation and the current Priest of the church, Danil Lugovoy, planted numerous birch trees in the grounds around the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh. The trees were planted as replacements to the ones previously cut down while the construction of the chapel in honour of the holy, apostle like Prince Vladimir was taking place. There was work to be found for everyone present, some planted, some filled the hole with soil, some watered the young saplings after they were planted firmly in the ground. We hope that even in the forthcoming cold fronts approaching, the saplings will flourish and grow – this will bring us happiness and will hopefully serve as a warm reminder of our roots and where we are from.
