Service in Mozambique
On Saturday, January 30th, the celebration day of St. Anthony the Great, rector of the church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, Archpriest Danil Lugovoy carried out the Divine Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Holy Archangels Michael and Gabriel in the capital of Mozambique, Maputo.
During the service the singing was performed by the choir of the Mozambique Orthodox Russian-speaking community. Father Danil delivered a sermon of St. Anthony the Great and the use of his advice in the spiritual life of the modern Christian.
After the service, blessing of water and memorial service prayers were carried out.
Then, in the building of the cathedral a tea was held. All present were able to communicate with each other. Father Danil gave the Orthodox community in Mozambique spiritual literature and pocket calendars indicating the celebrations and fasts in 2016.
