The current Priest and parishioners of St. Sergius of Radonezh congratulated Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodore II, with the 10th anniversary of his enthronement

On Tuesday, January 20th, the Cyprus National Center in Johannesburg hosted a reception on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the enthronement of His Beatitude the Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodore II.

The Rector of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg Rev. Danil Lugovoy and the parishoners congratulated His Beatitude, accordingly.

After the Archbishop of Johannesburg and Pretoria Damaskinos welcomed the Patriarch of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria on behalf of the Diocese of Johannesburg – His Beatitude was congratulated by Priest Danil Lugovoy and thanked His Beatitude for the care provided to the Russian church. In honour of the anniversary of accession to the patriarchal throne, and to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the opening of the first Representation of the Orthodox Church of Alexandria in Moscow in the church of St. Nicholas – Father Danil presented a gift to His Beatitude – the icon of St. Nicholas and the church’s treasurer Marina Denisenko presented His Beatitude with a bouquet of flowers.

His Beatitude Patriarch Theodore asked to convey his sincere gratitude and blessing to all the parishioners of St. Sergius of Radonezh church with the following message, “Russia is in my heart, and it will be forever,” pronounced His Beatitude.
