The rector of St Sergius takes part in ceremonies to commemorate the Name Day of His Beatitude Theodorus II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandra and All Africa.

On 17th February 2010, the rector of St Sergius, Father Daniel Lugavoy, took part in ceremonies held at the bishopric in Johannesburg to commemorate the Name Day of His Beatitude Theodorus II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandra and All Africa.

After the celebration of the Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts, His Eminence Seraphim, Archbishop of Johannesburg and Pretoria, greeted all present and gave speech about the high service of the Patriarch. He noted that soul of His Beatitude Theodorus II aspired to a church service since childhood.

At the tea which was held afterwards, Fr Daniel asked His Eminence to convey to his Beatitude Theodorus II, on behalf of the members of the St Sergius parish, heartfelt congratulations and sincere prayers for the all-strengthening help of God in his most holy service.
