{"id":5986,"date":"2026-02-15T22:17:33","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T20:17:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.st-sergius.info\/?p=5986"},"modified":"2026-02-18T14:13:30","modified_gmt":"2026-02-18T12:13:30","slug":"prazdnovanie-masleniczy-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.st-sergius.info\/en\/prazdnovanie-masleniczy-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Shrovetide celebration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On 15 February 2026, on the feast of the Purification of our Lord God and Saviour Jesus Christ, after the end of the divine service on the territory of the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh a traditional holiday dedicated to the end of Cheese Week - Shrovetide was held.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The holiday turned out to be truly joyful and family friendly. Traditional Russian amusements were organised for the children: relay races, tug of war, sack race.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The parish centre hosted a tea party with aromatic tea from a real samovar.
