On Saturday 17 January, the day before the Feast of the Epiphany, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the house church of the Archangel Michael in Lusaka, the capital of Zambia.
The service was led by Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, rector of the Cathedral of St Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg (South Africa) and interim rector of the parish of Archangel Michael in Lusaka. He was served by the dean of the Zambian church district, Priest John Musonda, and Priest Varnava Ntasha.
The day before, on 16 January, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, at the invitation of S. N. Kovaleva, Representative of Rossotrudnichestvo and Head of the Russian House in Zambia, held a meeting with young Zambians who are going to receive higher education in Russia. An interesting lively conversation took place. The young people asked many questions about the Orthodox faith, spiritual life and traditions of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Then in the Church of the Archistratigus of God Michael, a rite of great consecration of water was performed, after which Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy, with the blessing of the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, temporarily governing the Diocese of South Africa, conducted a meeting of the parish. He conveyed the blessing of His Eminence to the clergy and discussed issues of current life, the organisation of liturgical and educational activities of the parishes.
