On the night of April 11th to April 12th, 2026, during the feast of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, led the Easter services – the midnight service, procession, Easter Matins, and Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom – at the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the South African Diocese in Johannesburg (South Africa).
His Eminence was served by Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, rector of the cathedral, and Deacon Stephen Hayes, clergyman of the parish.
At Paschal Matins, Metropolitan Constantine read the Word of Ophthalmology of St John Chrysostom for Holy Pascha.
At the Liturgy, the Paschal Gospel was read in six languages.
An Easter message from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' was announced.
After the intercessory prayer, Metropolitan Constantine consecrated the artos.
After the service, His Eminence Constantine congratulated the clergy and parishioners of the cathedral on the bright and salvific feast of Christ's Resurrection.
The archpastor also congratulated Deacon Stephen Hayes on his upcoming 85th birthday and presented him with an icon of the Saviour.
