On 12 April 2026, on the feast of Holy Pascha, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Innocent of Coptic Africa, celebrated the Great Paschal Vespers at the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the Southern African Diocese, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He was served by Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, rector of the cathedral, and Deacon Stephen Hayes, clergyman of the parish.
The service was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Africa R.E. Ambarov.
A celebratory concert by the Sunday school pupils was held at the parish centre after the service.
Under the guidance of Mother Elena, the older group created a sand animation titled «Gospel Parables,» and the younger group prepared a colourful, interactive performance dedicated to God's creation of the world.
