On Sunday 13 November Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy celebrated Matins and Divine Liturgy .
After the end of the service, events organised by the Russian Embassy and the Rossotrudnichestvo Representative Office in honour of the People's Unity Day took place on the territory of the church. The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to South Africa, Ilya Igorevich Rogachev, as well as the representative of Rossotrudnichestvo, Yuri Dmitrievich Gerasimov, and the rector of the parish of St. Sergius of Radonezh, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, addressed the audience with welcoming remarks.
Then a concert was held. Pupils from the Russian Embassy School performed. The schoolchildren prepared a wonderful performance in colourful Russian folk costumes with playing on wooden spoons. Songs and musical compositions were also performed.
The celebration concluded with a meal in the Parish Centre.
