On Thursday 22 August, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy, rector of the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, and his parishioners took part in a charity event. Through their joint efforts, a wonderful good deed was carried out at the New Jerusalem orphanage.
Employees of the Russian Embassy in South Africa gave a talk to children about Russia and the Russian National Flag, the day of which is celebrated today.
This was followed by a film about Russia and the cartoon "Masha and the Bear".
Then we all made sandwiches together and treated the children to them.
A huge thank you to the organisers and everyone who joined in.
