On Sunday 15 January, after the end of the Sunday service, a children's Christmas party was held in the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
The students of the parish Sunday school performed. A colourful Christmas play was presented to the audience.
After the concert programme, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy presented the speakers with children's Orthodox wall calendars and thanked the children for their brilliant performance.
Then the audience was congratulated by Ded Moroz and Snegurochka and presented the boys and girls with sweet Christmas gifts prepared with the support of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in South Africa.
A "sweet story" was waiting for the children in the Sunday school class. Mothers baked a gingerbread town for the children. On its streets were staged stories from the life of St Nicholas. Matushka Elena told the young spectators about the miracles that the Lord performed at the prayers of the saint on land and at sea, both during his life and after his righteous death. After the story was over, the sweet trees, pavement towns and houses were immediately eaten by the children with great pleasure.
The feast ended with a common meal prepared by the joint efforts of the parishioners.
