On 3 April 2025, Wednesday of Holy Week, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Zaraisk, visited the Church in the name of the Venerable Zosima and Savvatii of Solovetsky in Hopefield, South Africa.
His Eminence was accompanied by Archpriest Daniil Lugovoi, dean of churches of the South African Diocese in South Africa, and Priest Nicholas Esterhuizen, rector of the parish of St John of the Cross in Cape Town, and his parishioners.
The bishop performed the rite of small consecration of the temple.
At the end of the service, the Vladyka made an archpastoral address to those gathered and donated an icon of the Solovetsky wonderworkers to the church. All those praying received an Easter egg as a gift.
On the same day, Metropolitan Constantine visited the church under construction in honour of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the town of Tulbach, where he offered prayers for the successful completion of the construction.
The exarch also visited the chapel of St Nicholas the Wonderworker in the same city, where he celebrated a glorification and prayer to the saint.
The temples and chapel are attached to the parish of St John of the Cross in Cape Town, whose rector is Priest Nicholas Esterhuizen.
