On Sunday, 30 October, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Priest Nicholas Esterhuizen and Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi at the Church of St John of the Cross in Cape Town.
After the service, Father Nicholas thanked Father Daniel for his many years of service to the Orthodox community in Cape Town. In his response, the rector of the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg acknowledged the labours of Father Nicholas, Mother Anastasia and all the parishioners in creating and beautifying the Church of St. John of the Cross and wished them every success in the development of parish life.
Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy presented an icon of selected saints to the Cape Town parish for prayerful remembrance. Also, icons, Gospels, prayer books and children's literature were brought from Johannesburg.
Then everyone joined together for a warm chat during a tea party.
