On 12 January, Bishop Konstantin of Zaraisk, Acting Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, who is on a visit to South Africa, visited the Church of St. Thomas of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church in Johannesburg. Vladyka was received by the rector of the temple, Priest Stanley James, who showed the decoration of the temple, the iconostasis of which is decorated with reproductions of Russian icons. Their veneration in recent years has spread considerably among Indian believers, as has the veneration of Russian saints. Bishop Constantine also visited the Church in honour of St. Mark the Apostle of the Coptic Church in Johannesburg, where he met with Metropolitan Anthony Marcos of South and West Africa, one of the oldest hierarchs serving on the African continent. Metropolitan Anthony is known in the Coptic Church as a missionary and evangeliser who has been carrying out educational missions in Africa for more than 50 years. Vladyka wished the hierarch, who celebrates his 87th birthday this year, good health and presented him with a memorial gift - an icon of St Andrew Rublev.
