On Sunday, 3 November,on the 19th Sunday after Pentecost, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, rector of the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, dean of parishes of the South African Diocese in South Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in Bloemfontein, accompanied by Priest John Rossouw, rector of the parish of St. Thomas the Apostle.
The choir of the parish of St Thomas the Apostle sang during the divine service. The Divine liturgy was conducted in Afrikaans, English and Church Slavonic.
The sermon on the Gospel reading was delivered by Priest John.
After the dismissal, a glorification was celebrated before the relics of St John the Apostle, which had been brought from Johannesburg for veneration.
At the end of the service Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy warmly welcomed the rector and parishioners and handed over a set of icons of the Twelve Great Feasts.
This was followed by a tea party.
