On Thursday 7 November, dean of parishes of the South African Diocese in South Africa, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, rector of the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, visited the chapel under construction in the name of Saints Zosima and Savvatii of Solovetsky in Hopefield.
Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy, accompanied by Priest Nicholas Esterhuizen, rector of the Church of St John of the Ladder in Cape Town, celebrated a prayer service to Saints Zosima and Savvatiy.
The service was followed by a conversation with the congregation to discuss the completion of the building, a possible schedule for services in the chapel, and ways to develop church life in the West Coast area.
