On 12 October 2025, in the Week of the 18th Pentecost, the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh of the Diocese of South Africa in Johannesburg (South Africa) celebrated its Throne Feast. Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, who temporarily governs the Diocese of South Africa, led the Divine Liturgy.
His Eminence was served by Archpriest Daniil Lugovoi, dean of the South African Church District (South Africa) and rector of the Sergievsky Cathedral, and Deacon Stephen Hayes, clergyman of the cathedral.
The service was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of South Africa R.E. Ambarov.
At the end of the Liturgy, a procession was held.
After the service, Father Daniel addressed the Vladyka with a welcoming speech and presented a commemorative gift.
Then Metropolitan Constantine gave an archpastoral address and congratulated those gathered on the Throne Feast. Archpriest Daniel, the rector of the cathedral, was presented with a pectoral cross with jewellery.
