On October 11, 2026, on the 19th Sunday of the Fifth Week of Lent, in the cathedral church of Saint Sergius of Radonezh, solemn celebrations were held in honor of the patronal feast — the day of commemoration of the heavenly patron of the parish.
The festive Divine Liturgy was presided over by Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, Patriarch of Africa.
His Eminence was accompanied by the vicar of the parishes in South Africa, the rector of the cathedral church, Rev. Daniel Lugovoy, the clergy of the Archangel Michael parish in Lusaka (Zambia), Rev. Anatoly Trushin, and the clergy of the Sergius Cathedral, Deacon Stefan Hayes.
On Sunday, the church gathered parishioners and guests who came to share the joy of the feast of the Holy Trinity. After the Divine Liturgy, the traditional procession around the cathedral took place.
Then Metropolitan Constantine addressed the gathered congregation with an archpastoral message, congratulated the clergy and parishioners on the feast of the Dormition of the Mother of God, and imparted his blessing to all.
The celebration continued with a communal meal, after which parishioners and guests were able to chat warmly and joyfully.
