Yesterday, Thursday 18 December, a wonderful Christmas good deed was accomplished through joint efforts. Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, rector of the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh, and together with parishioners visited the nearby orphanage «New Jerusalem». Over the past weeks, gifts and treats were prepared for the children and carers.
Father Daniel addressed the audience with a welcoming speech and congratulated everyone on the coming holidays - Christmas and New Year. He called to thank God for the past year and to try to bring the most important gift - purity of heart - to the Christ Child by cultivating kindness, love and mercy.
The guests offered the children treats: fruit, drinks and sweets. Each child and the carer were given gifts.
Heartfelt thanks to Irina, Maria and everyone who got involved in the preparation and execution of this event, who made it possible.
May the Lord strengthen all in works of mercy, and may the Christ who is born bring peace, light and hope to every home.
