On May 29th and 30th, the Dean of the parishes of the South African Diocese in South Africa, the rector of the Cathedral of Saint Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, and the acting rector of the parish of the Archangel Michael in Lusaka, Archpriest Daniil Lugovoy, visited Zambia.
On 29 May, a meeting was held with Zambian students and youth. By invitation of the Representative of Rossotrudnichestvo and head of the Russian House in Zambia, S. N. Kovaleva, Archpriest Daniil Lugovoy gave a talk on Saints Cyril and Methodius, the apostles equal to them, Slavic writing, Russian culture, and spiritual life. Father Daniil spoke about the significance of the Slavic alphabet for the spread of the Christian faith among Slavic peoples, and about the connection between language, culture, and church tradition. The meeting's participants asked questions about Russia, Orthodoxy, and spiritual life.
On the same day, a memorial service was held in the home church of Archangel Michael in Lusaka, on the eve of Trinity Parental Saturday.
On 30 May, the Saturday before Trinity Sunday, Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the home church of the Archangel Michael. All those present participated in the singing during the service and partook of the Holy Mysteries of Christ.
After the service, there was a tea reception and a discussion with parishioners. Those gathered discussed the current life of the parish, and further plans for the development of liturgical and parish activities in Lusaka.
