On 9 May 2024, Thursday of Holy Week, Metropolitan Constantine of Zaraisk, Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg.
His Eminence was served by the rector of the church Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi.
At the end of the Divine Liturgy there was an Easter procession and a thanksgiving prayer to the Lord God for the granting of victory in the Great Patriotic War.
After the prayer service, Metropolitan Constantine congratulated Archpriest Daniel on the 20th anniversary of his priestly ordination and presented him with an icon of the Equal-to-the-Apostles Great Prince Vladimir.
The Archbishop then presented Fr. Daniel with a decree appointing him dean of the parishes of the South African Diocese in South Africa.
A festive meal was held in the parish centre, during which the parishioners warmly congratulated the rector on the 20th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
