On 5 May 2024, the Feast of the Bright Resurrection of Christ, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Zaraisk, celebrated Paschal Great Vespers at the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He was served by the rector of the church Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi.
I.I. Rogachev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to South Africa, attended the service.
At the end of the service in the parish centre, the Sunday school pupils presented a colourful Easter performance. The young artists were presented with colourful children's books about the Orthodox faith, and Vladyka Konstantin presented each of them with a painted Easter egg.
This was followed by a shared festive meal prepared by the efforts of our parishioners.
