On 7 April, the parish centre of the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh hosted a concert by the string quartet Pangea. The name of the quartet Pangea comes from "Pangea" - the ancient united continent. This name reflects the philosophy of unanimity and dialogue leading to mutual cultural enrichment.
The Johannesburg-based musical group presented two landmark works from the string quartet repertoire: String Quartet No. 1 by Johannes Brahms and String Quartet No. 2 by Johannes Brahms Johannes Brahms' "String Quartet No. 1" and Felix Mendelssohn's "String Quartet No. 2" Felix Mendelssohn. Their performance left a lasting impression on everyone who attended the evening, giving the audience the opportunity to experience the depth of these musical works.
Before the musical evening Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy conducted a tour of the church for the guests of the parish, during which he spoke about the history of construction, the origin of the parish of St Sergius of Radonezh on South African soil, and also answered numerous questions about Orthodoxy.
