On 14 April, in Week 4 of Lent, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy celebrated the Sunday service. On this day, the Orthodox Church also honours the memory of St John the Venerable St John the Venerable. After the service, the rector of the church delivered a sermon on the theme of the Gospel reading and urged the parishioners not to falter in the saving work of spiritual ascent up the ladder of virtues, overcoming the current steps of our path with prayer and reasoning.
The meal was followed by Sunday school classes.
Also, on this day the Sunday school students, under the guidance of Matushka Elena, began rehearsing for the Easter feast. The performance will take place on 5 May on the day of the bright feast of the Resurrection of Christ.
