On 16 January, as part of his archpastoral visit to South Africa, Acting Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Bishop Konstantin of Zaraisk arrived in Cape Town. He was met at the airport by the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Cape Town, A.V. Malenko. On the same day, Bishop Konstantin and A.V. Malenko discussed issues concerning the activities of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in South Africa, the pastoral care of compatriots and cooperation between the Russian Orthodox Church and the diplomatic missions of the Russian Federation in this country.The meeting was attended by Hieromonk Stephen (Igumnov), Secretary of the Department for Inter-Christian Relations, participating in the trip with the blessing of Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoi, rector of the Church of St Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, and Vladislav Dendyuk, assistant to Bishop Constantine.
