Solemn Easter services were held in the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh.
On the evening of 15 April, the Sacrament of Confession began, during which the book of the Acts of the Holy Apostles, which tells about the first years of the history of the Christian Church, was read.
On the night of 15-16 April, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy, rector of the Church of St. Sergius of Radonezh, celebrated Easter Matins and the Divine Liturgy, preceded by a procession.
The Easter Gospel, according to ancient tradition, was read at the Liturgy in different languages, as a sign that the news of Christ's Resurrection and faith in the Saviour had spread throughout the earth.
At the end of the service, during which most of the praying people received Holy Communion, Artos was consecrated - a special bread that will remain on the salt until the end of the Easter week and then will be distributed to bless the faithful.
