On Saturday, 7 December, the feast of the Presentation of the Most Holy Mother of God and the Feast of St. Catherine the Great Martyr, Archpriest Daniel Lugovoy, rector of the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh in Johannesburg, celebrated the Divine Liturgy and a water service at the Church of St. Mark the Apostle in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia.
The Coptic community hospitably made their church available for the service, after which the rector of the parish, Fr John Wasfi, warmly welcomed all those gathered.
Dmitry Anatolievich Lobach, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Namibia, staff of the Russian Embassy, members of the Russian-speaking diaspora prayed at the service. Also, Namibians interested in the Orthodox faith were present.
Then a tea party was held in the courtyard of the church. The orthodox communicated with each other and discussed pressing issues of Christian life.
