On Sunday, January 11, after the end of the divine service in the parish centre of the Cathedral of St. Sergius of Radonezh, a children's Christmas party was held.
The pupils of our Sunday school, under the guidance of Matushka Elena, prepared for parents and guests a theatre performance based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale «The Snow Queen». The young actors perfectly conveyed both the beauty and the meaning of this story - about loyalty, friendship and the power of a good heart.
The Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Johannesburg and South Africa, warmly congratulated the children and adults and presented gifts to the young participants of the performance.
As is tradition, the children were congratulated by Father Frost and Snow Maiden. After a merry round dance, each child received a gift, and the streets of the gingerbread town were filled with stories from the life of St Nicholas, as a reminder that the Christ Child calls us to charity and attention to our neighbours.
At the end of the festive part, a joint meal was held.
Thank you to everyone who helped in the preparation and implementation of the holiday.
May the gracious joy of Christmas strengthen our families and inspire our children to do good!
