On Sunday, 2 February, the Sunday school held a lesson on the anniversary of the lifting of the siege of Leningrad.
On 27 January 1944, in the course of the Leningrad-Novgorod operation, the blockade that had held the city together for 872 days was broken. The Leningrad residents' ordeal became a symbol of unbending will and courage.
The lesson was conducted by our parishioner, Olga Kolesnikova, a certified historian and tour guide. She told the children about the events of those years and the heroism of the residents who survived the terrible days of the blockade. The conversation ended at the stand with drawings of children of the blockade survivors, which became an important part of the memory lesson.
Then Matushka Elena conducted the creative part of the class. The children created a collage "Road of Life", reflecting their gratitude and memory of the Leningrad residents' resilience.
This lesson became not just a story about history, but also a living reminder of the feat of people whose fate is forever inscribed in the annals of the Great Patriotic War.
